Our diverse History collections consists of objects and information that tell the story of everyday life and work in Hampshire, mainly from the 19th century to modern times tracing the changing patterns as Hampshire moved from a rural to an urban economy.
The collections include objects relating to local crafts and industries and examples of technological design and invention. A significant collecting area has been the impact of manufacturing within Hampshire with a particular focus on transport material relating to Taskers, Thornycrofts, Wallis and Steevens, Lansing Bagnall and Gordon Keeble.
